This class teaches the principles of "mindfulness", an in-depth method of mind-body awareness that can be applied to everyday life situations.  Benefits include reduced stress, increased ability to relax, improved concentration, greater vitality and peace of mind.  This approach has also been very effective as a complement to treatment of a wide range of health conditions including chronic illness and pain.  Sitting meditation and a variety of other practical tools, that include gentle yoga stretching, walking meditation and relaxation techniques will be taught and practiced in each class.  The course is appropriate for beginners and students with experience who want to renew their meditation practice. 


GENERAL INFORMATION
Chairs are available or bring a firm blanket or cushion for sitting on the floor. Course is appropriate for beginners as well as those with experience.

Location: Quaker Farms School Media Center
Cost $145 Oxford Residents ($155 Non-Residents)
Early Bird Discount $10 off if registered 48 hours prior to start of class.
Included in the fee is a guided instructional CD for practicing on one's own.

INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION
The instructor, Sue Wall, has her MPH in health education (Yale School of Medicine) and certifications in Kripalu Yoga instruction and Phoenix Rising and Structural Yoga therapies with more than 20 years experience.

RETURNING STUDENTS
Students who are re-taking the course may take 50% off the regular fee. Please contact Sue Wall directly to register as a returning student. Please call 203-888-7012.
