OPR Teen Travel Camp
The travel camp replaces the Wolverines part of the Parks and Rec Summer Day Camp. We've listened to the kids who attend and we've made some pretty drastic changes to the program. Some people will like the changes, some will not. Ultimately, we believe that the campers will love it! And that's what it's all about!
Here's how Travel Camp works: On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week registered, campers are dropped off at Colonial Tavern where they will board a bus to somewhere different each day. They will return to C.T. at the end of the day where their parents can pick them up. On Thursdays, the campers will spend the day at Colonial Tavern for a pool party, BBQ'd hamburgers and Hot Dogs and a D.J. spinning the tunes. Fridays, the campers are off.
How cool is that? No Monday through Friday 9-4. No long days at Posypanko Park. A three day weekend every week! And, you can register for any week or any combination of weeks you want. No more "sessions". Only restriction is you must register early. There's only room for 55 kids on a bus each week! What are you waiting for?
The Weeks and the Trips:
Week 1 (July 5-8): Mystic Aquarium, Rock Cats Ball game, Ct Post Mall and Ice Cream
Week 2 (July 12-15): Smiles Entertainment Ctr., Hammonnassett State Beach, Milford Bowl
Week 3 (July 19-22): Norwalk Aquarium, Nomad's Adventure Quest, Danbury Mall and Ice Cream
Week 4 (July 26-39): Shelton Sports Ctr., Laser Planet, Sherwood Island State Beach

After your child is registered you will not hear anything until mid-June when you will receive a Camp Manual with much greater detail about the trips, what time we would be expected back on each day, what days include lunch and what days do not. Lunch is included at least twice each week.
Our counselors return year after year and have been trained and certified in CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens and EpiPen administration. Our camper to counselor ratio is 8:1. There are only 55 spaces available for each week, so register early to guarantee your child's place!
Price: $100 per week per child
Before Care (7:30-9:00am):$25 per week per child
Registrants will receive 1 Camp T-Shirt for one week registered; for 2 or more weeks registered, camper will receive 2 T-Shirts.
Deadline to register is May 20th or when each week is full, whichever comes first. IF there are still openings after May 20th, we will continue to accept registrations until June 1st with an assessment of a $25 late fee per child. Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after June 1st.
