General Information
If swimming, water skiing, boating and hiking are what you're looking for, then Jackson Cove Park is just the place. Located on Lake Zoar, this park offers a quiet beach with a large pavilion and 27 acres of woodland trails. The Oxford loop of the Pomperaug Trail provides hours of exercise filled with scenic views of the Housatonic River. The first completed segment of the Housatonic River Belt Greenway, a 4.6 mile trail, extends from Fiddlehead Road to Kettletown State Park. It was characterized by volunteers from the Connecticut Forest Parks Association along with members from the Oxford Land Trust and many community residents.
Admission (by permit) Memorial Day to Labor Day
- * From Labor Day until Nov 15th, gates will be opened at approximately 7:30am and closed at dusk.
- Resident permit or by non-resident day pass only.
- Resident Permits sold only at Town Hall from May19th-Labor Day.
- Resident Permits are $15 for each car and $50 for boat. Proof of residency and car/boat registration required.
- *New in 2010: When purchasing both a boat and vehicle permit at the same time, the cost is $55.
- Non residents may purchase a ”Day Pass” for use of the beach area only, for $25 from Southford Store. (on Rt 67).
- Non residents may purchase a seasonal boat launch pass for $350. No single day boat launch passes are available for non residents.
Pavilion Rental
The pavilion may be rented by Oxford residents.
