Jackson Cove Park

General Information
Located on Lake Zoar, this park offers a quiet beach with a large pavilion and 27 acres of woodland trails. The Oxford loop of the Pomperaug Trail provides hours of exercise filled with scenic views of the Housatonic River. The first completed segment of the Housatonic River Belt Greenway, a 4.6 mile trail, extends from Fiddlehead Road to Kettletown State Park. It was characterized by volunteers from the Connecticut Forest Parks Association along with members from the Oxford Land Trust and many community residents.

LAKE DRAWDOWN

• The lake will undergo a drawdown by First Light Power Resource, in order to conduct planned maintenance and inspection activities.
• This will take place on June 8th and 9th.
• The water level will be significantly lower and will make boating and swimming unavailable.

Admission (by permit) Memorial Day to Labor Day

• Park gates will be opened at approximately 7:00am and closed at dusk.
• Resident permit or by non-resident day pass only.
• Resident Permits sold only at Town Hall from May 13th-Labor Day.
• Resident Permits are $20 for each car and $50 for boat. Proof of residency and car/boat registration required. License plate numbers will be required.
• **New: Oxford residents can purchase a "walk-in" pass for $20 for their family. This can only be used for those family members who wish to walk or bike into the park. It does NOT replace the vehicle permit. If entering the park by car, a resident sticker or non resident day pass will be required. People who are dropped off at the park will need the proper "walk-in" pass.
• When purchasing both a boat and vehicle permit at the same time, the cost is $60.
• Non residents may purchase a ”Day Pass” for use of the beach area only, for $25 from Southford Store. (on Rt 67).
• Non residents may purchase a seasonal boat launch pass for $350. No single day boat launch passes are available for non residents.

The pavilion may be rented by Oxford residents.

PARK SEASON
From November 15th until March 15th - the park is CLOSED. All gates are locked at all times.
